30 minutes of Armstrong's most commercial music Sep 06, 2001
By David Fieni While this record is indeed Louis Armstrong, and therefore better than 98% of the music available out there, it is only of marginal interest when considered within the specific context of Louis Armstrong's incredible and revoluitionary career. The disc is only 31 minutes long, which in the age of CDs is unforgivable. This is a great record for those with a superficial interest in Satchmo, especially those who want to have "It's a Wonderful World" in their collection, but not for anyone interested in exploring Armstrong's unmatched capabilities as a true jazz virtuoso. Most of the tunes here are overproduced and highly orchestrated. Still, it is Louis Armstrong...

True musical genius Jun 10, 2000
By Digilante What a wonderful album! All eleven tracks are strong, but of course his "What A Wonderful World" must rate as the most beautiful rendition thereof. "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" is my personal favourite of the album, but again, the entire selection is top class. This is/was one of his best releases, go and get it. I recommend this without reservation. If you are new to Louis Armstrong, then this is the best place to start. His voice is rich and deep, and the tempo ranging from slow Sunday afternoon, to an old-fashioned Saturday night dance.

my favorite Jul 26, 1999 "what a wonderful world" is the most beautiful song ever written and it is sung so beautifully too.

His Best Mar 23, 1999 This is my first & favorite of Louie. This was recorded near his final years & with many of his friends around. You can hear & feel a real love from this man. Many of the song reflect his life like "Boy From New Orleans" & "This Black Cat". Everyone will like the often played "What A Wonderful World". I really like his version of "Give Peace A Chance", maybe even better than John Lennon's version (and I'm a big Beatle fan too). Give it a try yourself.

Lazy Sunday Evening Music Jun 03, 2000
By David R. Miller I love this album. It is great to listen to late on summer afternoons - lazy Sunday evening music. Louis recorded many albums during the 60's and those are the recordings I recommend. They are, of course, much higher in quality than the recordings made earlier from the 20's on. My favorite tracks on this album are "What A Wonderful World" and a rousing Dixieland Jazz version of "Cabaret". But all of the tracks are wonderful. I highly recommend it. This is one of his best albums.
