5Even after so many years she is still young, gifted and Black  Jul 07, 2006 By Kali "bengaligirl"
Guys, gals, you have GOT to get this CD, I have always liked Nina, she has such a sultry voice, it makes you want to curl up on a bed with black silk sheets, drink champagne and eat strawberries whilst you listen to this magical artist belt out all her amazing songs.

This CD contains most of Ms Simone's best music from over the years, and you are treated to such musical wonders as "Feeling Good", the funky and toe tapping "My Baby Just Cares For Me" and the thought provoking "To Be Young Gifted and Black."

I only wish the CD included the troubled and haunting melody "Strange Fruit", in this throatily sung song Nina told the world in allegory about the lynching of Black men, and who can forget those heartfelt lyrics as she cries out to a seemingly uncaring nation, "Strange fruit hangin' from the poplar trees..."

Quite simply the best, like Nina herself.

5Awesome  Jan 23, 2010 By Ziggy Free
Having only heard a song here or there I chose the Best Of so I could have a wide range of her music. I am blown away by her voice! My husband thought I was crazy when I bought the disc and now asks me to play her CD all the time. It's our favorite to play while reading the Sunday paper and enjoying our coffee.

5Great CD!  Jul 01, 2006 By RDK Loves Music
Just love this CD! I got hooked on Nina Simone when I saw the movie, Point of No Return. My fav tracks are Feeling Good, Don't Let me Be Misunderstood and I Want Some Sugar In My Bowl.

5Nina Simone - The Very Very Best  Apr 22, 2012 By skylar
I haven't had a Nina Simone album in so long, my tape selection warped away long ago. So I just forgot and I accidentally read a review from someone on Amazon on this album and I ordered it, awesome move. It is Nina at her best...

5Nina Rocks!  Apr 20, 2011 By Celia Tulloch "bibliophile"
If you appreciate Nina Simone's music or are curious about her style, this is the CD for you.
Both the depth and breadth of her genius is explored and she delivers the goods. Her great
talent at singing the blues, gospel, rock etc. is incredible and her skill as a pianist,
impressive. This album is bound to put you in a great mood. My only regret is that
"Mississippi Goddamn" was not included.
