Luis Miguel is simply larger than the life you live Apr 21, 1999 I visited Laredo,TX in 1995. I was one of the trainees from Singapore learning the flame-broiled chiken with the franchisor. One day while I was busy scrubbing the floor earning my training credits when I heard this beautifl voice on the radio. I asked my fellow Hispanic colleague and I was told it's "Luis Miguel ". I believe the song was "Sin Ti". His poweful and romantic voice reached even not-a-word-of-spanish, typical Chinese like me. But I admire him just as much. What more can I say. I believe I bought most of his album. Own more Spanish albums than any language. Enjoy Mexican food. Learning Mexican Language. Have a Spanish dictionary. Check out my e-mail addresses!! Write to me sometimes coz I love to know more about Luis Miguel and if I have missed any of his albums or new ones. Being in China, Spanish music is not quite the day-to-day listening pleasure of the mass. Thanks for putting up my review. JJ.

simply gorgeous ! Oct 18, 2000

These recordings are exquisitely produced, played, and sung. The songs are glorious and there isn't a moment that isn't top-notch. This is incredible musicianship from start to finish.Disc # 1: "Romance" from '91, is my second favorite of the set. It has 12 beautiful tracks and Armando Manzanero's "Te Extraño" is utterly sublime. Disc # 2: "Segundo Romance" from '94 has 11 tracks and more beauty for your ears...Pepe Guizar's "Sin Ti" is fabulous, as is "Historia de un Amor". Disc # 3: "Romances" from '97 is my favorite of the three, with the lushest string arrangements this side of heaven. It has 14 tracks/15 songs, a wonderful upbeat "Besame Mucho" and one of my favorite melodies, "Mañana de Carnaval". Whether you buy this singly or as part of this set, don't miss this CD. It's an absolute must in any Latin music collection. Top 10 on the list ! The package (for me the packaging completes the work of art): It comes in a double jewel case, the front half has disc # 1 and the 3 individual booklets, discs 2 & 3 are in the back half. I wish this had been a set like Alejandro Fernández' "Mis Primeros Exitos"(so perfect in every way !) with each CD individually wrapped and separate in a lovely box. This extraordinary trilogy of some of the best music ever recorded deserved that extra touch of elegance. Nevertheless, get them singly, or get them as a set, but get them...and enjoy these Latin classics done to perfection.

POWERFUL VOICE YET ROMANTIC ! Jul 17, 1999 One time I was fitting my clothes with my couturier and then a Spanish singer went on air...and I asked :"Who's that ?" and he said :"Luis Miguel, hes a young Spanish singer" and I turned around, without having even buttoned the back of my gown and went near the speakers and said :"Wow, he feels every word of the song !" After the fitting of the dresses, I immediately went to a music store and my god, his Cds were selling like hotcakes. I felt like a stranger, like I just landed from Mars ....so I listened to every CD available and then bought the entire collection ! I said :"Someday, we're gonna meet - Luis MIguel !" Luis Miguel can make any ordinary Spanish song sound either very emotional, or very sweet....I like the way he feels every word of the lyrics of the song....He sang one song "Abrazame" which was also sang by another famous Spanish singer and my god, there is no comparison....Luis Miguel's version totally transformed the song ! I appreciate the way he emotes, the way he tries to communicate with the listener and with the world. I am very proud of my Luis Miguel collection, especially the songs "Abrazame", "Suena", and "Nada Es Igual". Go Luis go ! You have conquered the world !

CONSUMATE ARTIST! Oct 19, 2002
By audrey thompson since Luis Miguel was 12 years old he has taken over the latin music world and has never let it go. If you wish to know the true meaning of an artist and his craft just listen to Luis Miguel, this young man takes a song and makes it his own and you the listener will become entrapped in the web he weaves when he sings. He can make you fall in love just by the sound of his voice, he makes you think that he is singing only to you. If you are a true fan of music then you should have the complete works of Luis Miguel in your music collection!

Luismi THE master Oct 20, 2004

OK, Luis Miguel might not be the greatest latin artist ever and he's light years from anything as adventurous as what's happening in latin rock, but he is THE master of the craft. These impeccably produced albums redefined a musical legacy (romantic bolero music) that was lost and relegated to lounge singers and corny latin interpreters. What began as a crossover experiment became a permanent cause for Luis Miguel, and we have to credit him for reviving bolero and re-introducing it to newer generations that could have cared less if these songs, "from my grandparents days", faded in time. The concept grows from the first album (weakest, experimental) to the third (best accomplished). These albums are a must have even if your not into latin pop, and it doesn't get any better(the fourth Romances album, not featured in this collection,is where things start sounding abit tedious.)This is best from Luis Miguel.
