Wonderful for PTSD/trauma survivors Jan 19, 2003 Suffering from PTSD, this CD has helped me to cope with flashbacks. Before getting this CD, it used to take hours for me to fall asleep and even then, I had a very troubled sleep. Now, I play this CD every night as I go to sleep and within minutes, I am asleep. No more flashbacks at night, and the CD helps create a safe feeling inside.

VERY nice cd to have at your bedside. Jan 16, 2000

This is my first Steve Halpern CD and I would have no reservations about getting more. The music is beautiful...it kind of weaves through your mind relaxing you. I, like another reviewer don't think I've ever heard the end of the tape. I'm always asleep. I love being able to play this at night and am VERY glad that I took the chance and ordered music by someone new to me.

Out Like a Light! Wow Oct 22, 2001
By WaterQueene Actually, NOT out like a light because I fell asleep even before I could turn my light out. This cd is great. I purchased it because since the tragic events of September 11 I seem to have trouble falling and staying asleep. I put it on continuous play mode and woke up feeling (gasp!) eager and excited to face Monday morning. Give it a try.

A 50-Year Chronic Insomniac Finds Relief At Last! Mar 30, 2006
By Katherine Graham
"Katherine Graham"
Now, this is the kind of review I really hate to write - as a matter of public record. But for the sake of others out there who need help functioning during the day because of this absolute "plague," one has to take the risk. Suffice it to say that after my younger sister passed away unexpectedly (& within 24 hours in 1956) when I was 7 years old, I could not sleep. And it's gone on for 50 years...right 5 decades for goodness sake! So on a wing and a prayer (not that I haven't tried the latter before along with all the usual "therapies" for such a condition), I spotted Amazon.com's review of this CD. Granted I was skeptical; yet the results have been nothing less than astonishing. I don't have a clue as to why or how Steven Halpern does it - all I know - is that this truly works. I would suggest that you do your regular night-time routine of whatever relaxation mode you prefer, and allow yourself the time to 'breathe in' the CD. It took the entire CD to do it for me but that's not saying much insofar as the miraculous result. In closing, I wish some wealthy person or entity out there would give this CD out anywhere or everywhere folks are in dire need. And nothing could be a more charitable and generous gift especially at this time of year. God Bless.

Musical Lunesta! Apr 16, 2006
By P. DAVIS
"phil36297"
I'm assuming that, if you're reading this, your goal is a really good night's sleep, and not unearthing a musical masterpiece. This CD has that classic new age/soothing/synthesized/touchy/feeling quality to it -- but I have to admit, it really does possess some magical "lulling" effect on the mind. It seems to almost interfere with the busy brain talk that keeps one awake and staring up at the ceiling. Perhaps that's why some reviewers got irritated with it, because it does seem to coax the busy little brain to sleep, and if your mind fights it, it would be annoying. But I found it very soothing. I only made it to the end of the CD once and I was mostly "out" by then. I figure it beats taking some prescription drug to mechanically knock the brain out. So if you're not sure, give it a try- if it doesn't put you right to sleep, on a minimum you'll feel very relaxed.
