JOHNNY GUITAR RIPS CLEAN & CRISP ON THIS REMASTERED CD! Dec 10, 2002
By Jay Siekierski Finally we got Johnny's '74 Soul-Rocker Saints & Sinners on CD and for all you Johnny lovers out there there is a special surprise! An unreleased bonus cut "Dirty" from the albums sessions is included! One thing I noticed immediately was how crisp & clear this Lp's master tapes transfered to CD. Man! Listening to this CD for a moment you'd think you got the guitar slinger right there in your room. All the original art has been faithfully restored and just wait till you hear "Thirty Days", the Soul-Rocker "Blinded By Love" and the super Funky "Feedback On Highway 101"... your socks will be knocked off!

This is Johnny at his Rock and Roll best-no basic blues here Nov 20, 1998
By Surfzup101 Johnny Kicks Butt on this one! In 1974 Johnny was in the midst of his Rock-and-Roll hero stage. I loved that period, not everybody does. This cd is a must for any guitar rock fan. Check out Bony Marony, Stray Cat Blues and Bad Luck Situation, and ultra-smooth slide guitar on Rollin Down the Highway.

Guitar playing and songwriting not up to snuff for Winter Apr 07, 2000
By Robert This recording is not a dog by any means. However there are better blues rock recordings by Johnny Winter that contain more superb songwriting and vibrant guitar playing to spend your money on. Such blues rock recordings by Winter include the bookends of this recording "Still alive and well" and "John Dawson Winter III", as well as "And ... Live", "Captured Live", "White Hot and Blue", "Winter of 88" In using a 10 star rating; for a blues rock recording, it would get 8/10. For a Winter blues rock recording it gets a 5.5/10

"João Paulo"
One of the best works from Johnny Winter. His version of Stray Cat Blues is superb and worthies the whole CD. I recommend Saints And Sinners to everybody that likes guitar, rock and blues

classic stuff Nov 04, 1999 This is a look at Johnny that wasn't often seen....pop-oriented, yet terrific guitar driven tunes. A classic album that gets better after each play.
