Mucho Sabor y Color Con Este Disco... May 30, 2000
By Armando M. Mesa This beautiful album (yes,it's an actual record) has been in my family for over 30 years. It is still a timeless classic! I just recently played it on my turntable the other night in all the album's monaural glory; the recording was never originally released in stereo. This was the era where music, regardless if it was recorded in Spanish or English, still obtained those same universal characteristics; Actual live and talented musicians with real instruments and gifted vocalists were the norm. Before the synthesizer or the digital era there were records with all their clicks, pops, ticks and dust (not that that was ever a good thing); It was the muscial material that mattered.Eydie Gorme & Trio Los Panchos is a traditional Spanish/Latin recording that should not only be listened to by the Spanish community. For non-Spanish speakers this would definitely open up their aural senses to the Panchos and Gorme's excellent craftsmanship of yesteryear. They would also be surprised at how many new Latin groups or artists out there today were just as equally inspired by them. Eydie Gorme and Trio Los Panchos took traditional Spanish love songs and ballads in 1964 and immortalized them. In fact, any young kids or music students taking lessons in classical guitar should be required to listen to this masterpeice ! Remember, music is universal and subjective no matter what language or era ...And to think when I was a kid how I hated for my dad to listen to this album.

Eydie Gorme & Los Panchos--The Best! Mar 14, 2002
By Latin Music Lover

I can't praise this enough. I bought the LP in the 60s and fell in love with it. Somewhere in my wanderings I lost it--I was delighted to find it on CD. Eydie and the Trio Los Panchos are an unbeatable combination for these wonderful boleros. I have many other recording of these songs, but these are my favorites, especially "Piel Canela" and "Sabor a mi." I recommend this CD and ANY CD with Eydie Gorme and Los Panchos. Although some of the love songs are sad, this album will fill you with joy.

Like Being In a late 50's -early 60's Cantina -Lounge May 13, 1999 This CD is amazing. Heck you can make out, cry & more to this album. Eydie is American, but she belts this out like a Latina, but in her lounge-y 50's voice that she's famous for- as for Trio Los Panchos, what can I say? They're simply the best at what they do- arranging, composing, singing y tocando sus guitarras. Some of the songs have been covered dozens of times (like "Sabor A Mi")but this album has some of the best covers of all time popular old songs in Espanol. Spanish music will never again be like this. Don't let the fact that this is all in Spanish stop you from appreciating the beauty of this music-I have played this around lots of non-Spanish speakers, young & old gringos :) & they love it! This is Spanish music the way it's meant to be-some songs of eternal love, others of eternal heart break (as in "Historia De Un Amor") ballads, all hopelessly romatic, beautiful melodies, guitars & maracas, the works! All without the machismo! YEAH! If you're of Latin descent & can't stand most of today's Spanish music, (like me) you will not be disappointed. Hell, tus padres y los viejos de tu familia will be impressed with this album & your taste!

English Love and Latin passion Jan 24, 2001
By Lizz Rodriguez I was very young when this first came out, though I grew up with the Beatles and submerged into the Sex Pistols and Dead Kennedys, my roots began with my father, the infamous Lino Rodriguez, who was a singer. When I listen to this album, Punker on the outside, Latina in the inside. Eydie gives it her best, and her clear, romantic voice, just makes you feel to relax and hear the voice accompanied by the ballads of the guitar strumming. You will want to be in Love. Los Panchos remind me of my father's guitar playing and singing (sort of like he was stroking my hair when I was little girl)...you'll want to put your CD player in "Repeat mode"!

Simply the BEST! Sep 02, 2000
By Donald J. Wilson "Amor" is truly a timeless classic collection of music by a great talent combo. This album has been a favorite of ours since we were introduced to it in the 60's by my wife's parents. They became "addicted" to it while living and working in the "oilpatch" in Africa. It was played over and over in a restaurant where they and their fellow "ex-pats" loved to gather -- it gave everyone a sense of home, from wherever they hailed. We, in turn, have enjoyed many wonderful hours with these songs as accompaniment and are thrilled to find it available on CD. In fact, we've ordered this and another CD and look forward to many more hours of super entertainment. Keep 'em coming, Amazon.com!
